3. Data collection on our website
Cookies
Our Internet pages sometimes use so-called cookies. Cookies will not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies help to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are saved on your computer and stored by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called „session cookies“. These are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies are stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser on your next visit.

You can adjust your browser settings so that you are notified of the use of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, accept cookies in certain cases or generally exclude them and enable the automatic deletion of cookies when closing your browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies that are required to perform the electronic communication process or provide certain features requested by you (e.g. shopping basket function) are stored in accordance with Art. 6 Point 1. (f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies to facilitate the flawless technical and optimized provision of its services. If other cookies (e.g. cookies to analyze your browsing behavior) are stored, these will be separately addressed in this Privacy Policy.

Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files that your browser automatically transmits to us. The information is:

Browser type and version
Operating system used
Referrer URL
Host name of the computer accessing the site
Time of server request
IP address
This data is not combined with other data sources.

Data is processed in accordance with Art. 6 Point. 1 (f) of the GDPR, which allows data to be processed in order to fulfil a contract or pre-contractual measures.

Contact form
If you submit an enquiry using the contact form, we will store the details you enter on the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide, for the purpose of handling the enquiry and in case of subsequent questions. We will not disclose this data without your consent.

The data entered on the contact form is therefore exclusively processed based on your consent (Art. 6 Point. 1 (a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time, simply by sending us an informal e-mail. The lawfulness of the data processing performed until your withdrawal of consent is unaffected by this.

We will retain the data you entered on the contact form until you ask us to erase it, withdraw your consent to its storage or the purpose of the data storage ceases to apply (e.g. once your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory legal provisions – especially retention periods – are unaffected by this.

4. Social media
Facebook plug-ins (like & share buttons)
Facebook plug-ins (provider: Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA) are integrated into our website. These Facebook plug-ins are identified by the Facebook logo or „Like“ button on our website. An overview of Facebook plug-ins is available here: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/.

When you visit our website, the plug-in establishes a direct connection between your browser and the Facebook server. Facebook is therefore notified that you visited our website using your IP address. If you click the Facebook „Like“ button while logged into your Facebook account, you can link the content of our website to your Facebook profile. Facebook can therefore assign your visit to our website to your user account. Please note that as the website provider we are unaware of the content of the data transmitted to as well as its use by Facebook. For more information, please refer to Facebook’s Privacy Policy at: https://de-de.facebook.com/policy.php.

If you do not want Facebook to assign your visit to our website to your Facebook user account, please log out of Facebook.

5. Analysis tools and advertising
Google Analytics
This website uses features of the web analysis service, Google Analytics. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

Google Analytics uses so-called cookies. These are text files that are stored on your computer and enable the analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US, where it is stored.

Google Analytics cookies are stored in accordance with Art. 6 Point 1. (f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analyzing user behavior in order to improve both its website and advertising.

IP anonymization

IP anonymization is enabled on this website. Google will therefore truncate your IP address within the Member States of the European Union or in other nations that are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, prior to its transmission to the US. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the US, where it will be truncated. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activity and provide the website operator with other services related to website and Internet usage. The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be combined with other Google data.

Browser plug-in

You can prevent the storage of cookies by setting your browser software accordingly; please be aware, however, that you may not be able to fully use all the features of this website in this case. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address), as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.

Objection to data collection

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by clicking on the following link. It will place an opt-out cookie on your computer that prevents your data from being collected during future visits to this website: Disable Google Analytics

For more information about Google Analytics‘ handling of user data, refer to Google’s Privacy Policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.

Data processing

We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google and fully implement the stringent requirements of the German data protection authorities when using Google Analytics.

Demographics in Google Analytics

This website uses the Demographics feature of Google Analytics. Reports can therefore be produced that contain statements about the age, gender and interests of visitors to the site. This data comes from interest-based Google advertising as well as from visitor data delivered by third-party providers. This data cannot be assigned to a specific person. You can disable this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google account or generally prohibit the collection of your data by Google Analytics as outlined in „Objection to data collection“.

Google reCAPTCHA
We use Google reCAPTCHA (hereinafter referred to as reCAPTCHA) on our websites. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (Google).

reCAPTCHA is intended to check whether data has been entered on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) by an actual person or by an automated program. To do this, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis begins automatically as soon as the visitor enters the website. For this analysis, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, the amount of time the visitor spends on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during this analysis is forwarded to Google.

reCAPTCHA analyses run entirely in the background. Website visitors are not alerted that an analysis is taking place.

The data is processed in accordance with Art. 6 Point 1. (f) of the GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting their website from improper automated surveillance and from SPAM.

For more information about Google reCAPTCHA, as well as Google’s Privacy Policy, please refer to the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://www.google.com/recaptcha/intro/android.html.

6. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you, as well as information that will allow us to verify that you are the owner of the specified e-mail address and agree to receipt of the newsletter. No other data will be collected, or only if it is provided on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively to deliver the requested information and do not disclose it to third parties.

The data entered on the newsletter subscription form is exclusively processed based on your consent (Art. 6 Point. 1 (a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw at any time the consent you have given to the storage of this data and e-mail address, and their use to send you the newsletter, using the unsubscribe link in the newsletter, for example. The lawfulness of data processing already performed is unaffected by this withdrawal.

We will store the data you provide for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter until you cancel your subscription, after which it will be erased. Data that we store for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members area) is unaffected by this.

MailChimp
This website uses the services of MailChimp to circulate newsletters. The provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

MailChimp is a service that can be used to organize and analyze the distribution of newsletters. When you enter data for the purpose of newsletter subscription, (e.g. e-mail address), this is stored on MailChimp servers in the US.

MailChimp is certified in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield. This Privacy Shield is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the US that is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the US.

MailChimp can help us analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent via MailChimp, a file in the e-mail (so-called web beacon) connects to the MailChimp servers in the US. This allows us to determine whether a newsletter has been opened and which links may have been clicked on. Technical information is also collected (e.g. time of access, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to a specific newsletter recipient. It is used solely for the statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to ensure that future newsletters reflect the recipients‘ interests to a better extent.

If you do not want MailChimp to perform such analyses, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. We provide a link for this in every newsletter e-mail. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.

The data is processed based on your consent (Art. 6 Point. 1 (a) of the GDPR). You can withdraw this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of data processing already performed is unaffected by this withdrawal.

We will store the data you provide for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter until you cancel your subscription, after which it will be erased from both our servers and those of MailChimp. Data that we store for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the members area) is unaffected by this.

For more information, please refer to MailChimp’s Privacy Policy at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

Data processing agreement

We have entered into a so-called data processing agreement with MailChimp, whereby MailChimp is obliged to protect our customers‘ data and not disclose it to third parties. You can view this agreement at the following link: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement/.

When you visit any of our sites featuring a Vimeo plug-in, a connection will be established to Vimeo’s server. This tells the Vimeo server which of our sites you have visited. Vimeo also obtains your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged into Vimeo or do not have a Vimeo account. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the Vimeo server in the US.

If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you allow Vimeo to assign your browsing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.

For more information about the handling of user data, refer to the Vimeo Privacy Policy at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.

To do this, your browser must connect to Google’s servers. Google therefore knows that our website has been accessed via your IP address. We use Google Web Fonts to ensure the consistent, attractive appearance of our online presence. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Point 1. (f) of the GDPR.

If your browser does not support web fonts, your computer will use a standard font.

For more information about Google Web Fonts, visit https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s Privacy Policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

This website uses the Google Maps service via an API. The provider is Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

To use the features of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the US, where it is stored. The operator of this site has no control over this data transmission.

We use Google Maps to ensure the attractive appearance of our online presence and to make it easy to find the places indicated on our website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 Point 1. (f) of the GDPR.

For more information about the handling of user data, refer to the Google Privacy Policy: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy/.
